Data-based decisions

Objectives

It aims to strengthen the capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurs and professionals in identifying and addressing their own data and information demands.

This module focuses on the skills of finding, interpreting, selecting and manipulating data in order to transform it into relevant information, and then communicating it effectively.

Programme

1. Searching and filtering data, information and digital content (8h.)

  • Identification of information needs and construction of a simple search strategy.
  • Identification of data sources (portals and open data platforms)
  • Data collection tools and methods (Big data-IA and others)
  • Online security standards
  • Digital and data accountability

2. Evaluation and processing of data, information and digital content (8h.)

  • Data analysis: filtering, classification, sorting.
  • Data interpretation
  • Conversion of data into information
  • Data privacy and security

3. Management of data, information and digital content (8h.)

  • Data manipulation and exploitation
  • Data storage for ease of use
  • Communication and decision making
  • Creation of customised reports

It is aimed at professionals who are interested in understanding the importance of good data management and optimisation.
