Kajal Routing
Description
Kajal© is a platform designed to improve operational processes by integrating a set of algorithms that enable the implementation of Data Analytics solutions. These include demand forecasting, inventory optimization, order planning, production optimization, predictive maintenance, resource optimization, and route optimization for goods transportation.
The Kajal Routing service is based on the development of route and distribution network optimization models. Kajal Routing allows for dynamic route planning in urban and peri-urban areas, taking into account time windows, vehicle tracking, and real-time route adjustment in response to new pickup requests.
The service is also applicable to long-distance road transport planning to maximize vehicle profitability, reduce empty trips, comply with pickup and delivery windows, and respect tachograph restrictions.

Competitive Advantages
Key features of Kajal Routing:
- Use of heuristic and metaheuristic algorithms to solve complex combinatorial optimization problems
- Compatibility with any mapping provider for capturing coordinates and real distances
- Supports pickup and delivery logistics
- Benchmarking of different route-building methods based on optimization levels and performance
- Flexible time windows for visits
- Optimization and improvement of pre-designed routes
- Takes into account vehicle capacity and type
- Travel forecasting and scheduling
Applications
ROUTING APPLICATIONS
- Optimize your urban distribution routes dynamically. The objective is to streamline delivery and pickup logistics in urban areas by considering time constraints, vehicle capacities, and minimizing both the number of vehicles and total distance traveled.
- Kajal Routing works with any type of mapping provider. By default, it uses OpenStreetMap as the distance reference. The main input is the address for deliveries and pickups.
- The system generates a detailed visit plan with customer stops, schedules, and optimal routes. It verifies constraints and builds route plans that reduce total distance and number of trips.
- For long-distance systems, the focus shifts to trip planning and cross-docking centers. The system supports decisions such as whether to perform direct shipments or consolidate through intermediate branches.

Success Stories
Sesé
This project involved calculating vehicle planning cycles based on travel demand forecasted by a predictive system. Optimization increased the total distance covered per cycle while reducing empty trips, ensuring tachograph compliance and maximizing profitability.
Transforming Transport
In this European project, Kajal Routing was used to solve last-mile routing challenges in Greece, using input from two 3PL providers. Results showed a 30% reduction in distance for last-mile routes and 20% for outer Athens distribution plans.

Go Rural
The GoRural project aimed to create a platform to support current and future transport and distribution services in rural areas, with origins or destinations in major cities or other rural regions. Kajal Routing was used to assess performance improvements in route planning and distance reduction for trucks handling product deliveries and pickups.
